Award-winning music lessons for all ages and levels. We're one of the fastest growing services, having seen to hundreds of students. A broad variety of instruments and subjects are taught by some of the UK's best music tutors, all of whom have a strong and exciting musical background. River Music School is able to prepare students for exams, with the majority of students achieving Merits and Distinctions.

We teach piano, guitar, violin, singing, bass guitar, double bass, saxophone, flute, trumpet, trombone, drums and more. We teach these instruments in a broad variety of genres including classical, rock, pop, jazz, theatre, funk, soul, contemporary, and more. We also teach music theory, music production, composition, improvisation, harmony, conducting, elocution, music therapy and more.

If you are looking to start playing music, or are already a student who is looking to improve their musicianship, you should look no further. Our philosophy is simple: music is like a river, let it flow within you!

Discounts apply if you book 10 or 12 lessons upfront, otherwise you are welcome to book a minimum of 4 lessons.

We apply an automatic 5% for family members taking up lessons, pensioners and for students with disabilities or learning difficulties.

I’ve had such a great experience with River Music School and continue to have it . The service is very professional and the instructor who gives lesson to my daughter is very talented musician but also patient, encouraging, and genuinely passionate about teaching. Luke, the person with whom I have contact at the school is very professional and attentive to details and information.

I love a goal and recently set a personal goal to start on an exam route with my Sax. With the support of my tutor for about 18 months, we landed on the Improv route. 2 songs in with a few decent Improv bars. I still can't believe how far I have progressed. With the right encouragement and belief, it's never too late to learn. Thank you Aidan, thank you River Music School for turning 1 of my dreams into reality. So much more to learn, fuelled by the joy and enjoyment to keep going. I recommend this team to anyone who has thought of learning to play.

I have had a wonderful time learning to play piano again (after stopping for awhile) with a very good tutor who made it so easy for me, the tutor also taught me a lot about about music theory I will definitely be continuing with this learning process Thank you river music school

My son has been receiving lessons from Stefan in Manchester (River Music School) for a couple of months now. Stefan has been communicating well and has always been very respectful. He is not only a skilled music teacher who uses various techniques to engage my son, but also a highly professional and empathetic individual. He is attentive to my son's additional needs and always creates a respectful, supportive environment that allows him to learn in ways that work best for him.
